Collins Pub In Morris Plains To Permanently Close

MORRIS PLAINS, NJ — Collins Pub in Morris Plains will permanently close Feb. 15. The casual Irish pub operated nearly 50 years.

Ownership announced the upcoming closure Tuesday in a Facebook message.

"We want to take this opportunity to thank all of our employees for their dedication and our loyal patrons who supported us," said the Alberto family. "We appreciate all the support and love from our family and friends."

The pub is located at 688 Speedwell Ave.

Pub ownership didn't announce why they're closing. But bars and restaurants throughout New Jersey have faced obstacles because of coronavirus restrictions.

Since allowing indoor dining to reopen, New Jersey has limited capacity to 25 percent. In November, Gov. Phil Murphy also prohibited indoor dining and drinking between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.
