New Colorado Eagles bobblehead goes on sale as AHL team opens 2022-23 season

Colorado Eagles hockey fans can celebrate the start of a new season with a new, limited-edition team bobblehead.

The bobblehead is part of an American Hockey League collection from the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum that includes all 32 teams and went on sale Friday, Oct. 14 through its online store.

The bobbleheads cost $30 apiece, plus a flat-rate shipping charge of $8. A full set of the AHL bobbleheads can be purchased for $900. Bobbleheads are expected to ship in November, museum co-founder and CEO Phil Sklar said in a news release.

The Eagles bobblehead is a smiling hockey player standing on a circular base, wearing a navy-blue team jersey, shorts and helmet, with red trim on the jersey, gold gloves and black skates.

The Eagles are the AHL affiliate of the NHL’s Colorado Avalanche and play their home games at the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland.

They open the 2022-23 season with games at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, and Saturday, Oct. 15, at the Texas Stars in Cedar Park, Texas. The Eagles' home opener is at 7:05 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, vs. the Calgary Wranglers.

“We’re excited to be working with the AHL to release the first collection of vintage bobbleheads featuring every American Hockey League team,” Sklar said in the news release. “With their NHL affiliate winning the Stanley Cup title and the Eagles advancing to the third round of the AHL playoffs last season, there is sure to be plenty of excitement in hockey-loving Colorado in 2022-23.”

The Eagles began play in 2003-04 as an expansion franchise in the Central Hockey League, where they won two league championships, five conference titles and six division titles in eight seasons. They moved up to the ECHL for the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons, winning league titles both years. They joined the AHL in 2018-19.

The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum is based in Milwaukee.
