Colorado primary election 2024: Add these 13 important dates to your calendar

State and local off-year elections may have just taken place, but important dates for the 2024 election are right around the corner. Coloradans have a large role to play throughout the upcoming year at local, county, state, and national levels.

Whether you're a new or an experienced voter, here are 13 important dates to consider adding to your 2024 calendar:

2024 election dates to remember in Colorado

  • Presidential primary election: March 5

  • Precinct Caucuses: March 5-9

  • Primary Election: June 25

  • General Election: Nov. 5

Colorado 2024 Presidential Primary Election dates to remember

Colorado's primary elections are open to registered party and unaffiliated voters, and the month of February has a few important dates ahead of the March 5 presidential primary for voters to consider.

  • Feb. 12: This is the last day for voters who are affiliated or unaffiliated with a political party to change or withdraw their affiliation if they wish to vote in a different party's primary election.

  • Feb. 16: This is the last day for county clerks to mail out ballots for Colorado's presidential primary. This is also the last day to affiliate with the Republican Party or Democratic Party in order to vote in the March 9 Party Precinct Caucuses and the last day to update your voter registration address to participate in the caucuses.

  • Feb. 26: This is the last day for an individual to submit a voter registration application and still receive a ballot in the mail for the presidential primary.

  • March 5: Colorado's "Super Tuesday" Presidential Primary Election day. Polling stations will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and ballot drop boxes will remain open until 7 p.m.

  • March 5-9: The Republican Party and Democratic Party Precinct Caucus days will take place within this time period.

Colorado 2024 Primary Election dates to remember

Come summertime, Colorado voters will have the opportunity to vote in a second primary unique to the state.

  • June 3: This is the last day to submit an application to register to vote in the June 25 Primary Election through a voter registration drive, as well as the last day for voters who are unaffiliated or affiliated with a political party to change or withdraw their affiliation if they wish to vote in a different party's primary election for the June 25 primary. Colorado still offers same-day registration online and in person.

  • June 7: This is the last day for county clerks to mail out ballots for the June 25 primary.

  • June 17: This is the last day for an individual to submit a voter registration application and still receive a ballot in the mail for the June primary.

  • June 25: The primary election. Polling stations will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and ballot boxes open until 7 p.m.

Dates to remember ahead of the 2024 Colorado General Election

  • Oct. 15: This is the last day to submit an application to register to vote in the 2024 General Election through a voter registration drive. Colorado still offers same-day registration online and in person.

  • Oct. 18: This is the last day to mail out ballots for the 2024 General Election.

  • Oct. 28: This is the last day for an individual to submit a voter registration application and still receive a ballot in the mail for the 2024 General Election.

  • Nov. 5: 2024 General Election Day. Polling stations will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and ballot boxes open until 7 p.m.
