Colorado snowfall totals vary from an inch in cities to a foot in the mountains

Thursday's snowstorm closed roads due to crashes and slide-offs as much of the Front Range and foothills received its first significant snow of the season.

U. S. Highway 287 north of Fort Collins to the Wyoming border and Red Feather Lakes Road (Larimer County Road 74E) were closed due to crashes and hazardous driving conditions Thursday night, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation. Those roads later reopened.

Many Front Range cities received an inch or two of snow, the foothills got about 3 inches or more and the mountains ranged from just a few inches to a foot.
