Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center caring for two new Red Wolves

The rarest wolf in the world is the American Red wolf (Canis rufus), and a pair have settled into their new home at CWWC. The pair consists of two 10 year old’s retiring from the breeding program, Van Gogh (M) and Shawnee (F). They came from Fossil Rim Wildlife Center in Glen Rose, Texas. Van Gogh and Shawnee are part of the SAFE program (Saving Animals From Extinction) through the Association of Zoos and Aquariums.
