Colorful kites take to the sky at Pier Village in Long Branch

The seventh annual Kites at the Pier took place Saturday, April 22, at Chelsea Avenue Beach in Long Branch's Pier Village.

Kites of all shapes and sizes soared over the beach. There was a yellow duck, a purple squid, SpongeBob, Mickey Mouse and many more.

There were also activities and games for kids. At one point, children chased giant bubbles blown by Joe Kay of Totowa. In addition, there was a bounce house, carousel rides, face painting, and performers from Lakehouse Music Academy.
