Colts not projected to receive comp picks for 2023 NFL draft
With just one more game left in the 2022 season, the Indianapolis Colts will be hard at work over the next few months preparing for the 2023 NFL draft.
While we know how much general manager Chris Ballard loves draft picks, it appears the Colts could be going without any compensatory selections during the upcoming draft.
According to Over the Cap, the current projections for the compensatory picks do not include the Colts receiving one in the 2023 draft.
If it’s any consolation, they also aren’t projected to help out any other teams from the free agents they signed during the 2022 offseason.
The Colts had a slight chance to get a late-round compensatory pick after guard Mark Glowinski signed with the New York Giants and defensive end Al-Quadin Muhammad signed with the Chicago Bears.
However, the Colts also signed cornerbacks Stephon Gilmore and Brandon Facyson, which canceled out the losses in free agency.
This isn’t official, of course, but Over the Cap does a great job projecting compensatory picks every season so it’s likely this will stand.
The Colts currently are slated to have eight selections in the draft, including the No. 4 overall pick.
