Colts punt returner Keke Coutee is out with a concussion after scary hit

INDIANAPOLIS — The Colts might have lost punt returner Keke Coutee for the rest of the game after he took a shot to the head at the end of a 19-yard return near the end of the first half.

Coutee took a hit to the helmet from a Jaguars defender, went down hard and was clearly in trouble right away. Teammates immediately started calling for trainers. Coutee is being evaluated for a head injury, per press box announcement.

Players from both teams took a knee while Coutee was examined by doctors

Coutee eventually sat back up, rose to his feet with the help of trainers and headed straight for the locker room with a trainer.

Indianapolis has been hit hard by concussions in recent weeks, losing All-Pro linebacker Shaq Leonard, running back Nyheim Hines, defensive end Tyquan Lewis and special teamer Tony Brown to the injury in light of the NFL revising its concussion protocols after the gruesome injury suffered by Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa on Thursday Night Football against Cincinnati three weeks ago.

If Coutee is out, the Colts are down their top two punt returners heading into the second half against Jacksonville. Hines is not available as he continues to recover from the concussion he suffered in Denver last week.
