Colts’ snap counts in Week 6 win vs. Bengals

The Indianapolis Colts (4-2) are heading into their bye week fresh off of a comeback win against the Cincinnati Bengals (1-4-1) at Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday.

Thanks to a big day from Philip Rivers and the defense finding its groove following the first quarter, the Colts were able to come away with a win despite falling behind 21-0 quickly.

Here’s a look at the snap counts for the Colts on offense in Week 6:

Notes

  • WRs T.Y. Hilton and Zach Pascal again lead the way playing over 90% of snaps while Marcus Johnson is clearly the WR3.

  • RB Jonathan Taylor took a bigger stranglehold of the backfield playing 59% of snaps and taking 72.7% of the backfield’s touches.

  • Despite the pass-heavy game script, RB Nyheim Hines played just 33% of snaps but held a 13.6% target share.

  • TE Trey Burton emerged as the move tight end and played nearly identical snaps to Jack Doyle, who has been used mostly on blocking snaps.

  • UDFA WR DeMichael Harris impressed in his limited work and seemingly could carve out a small role in the passing game.

Here’s a look at the defensive and special teams snap counts:

Notes

  • The Colts were in nickel almost the entire day with three cornerbacks playing at least 88% of snaps.

  • CB Rock Ya-Sin had a much bigger role than Week 5 when he saw 67% of snaps.

  • DT Tyquan Lewis played on 29% of snaps, which was the highest snap share he’s seen this season. He also had a strong game to back up the extended playing time.

  • Fresh off injured reserve, DT Sheldon Day played on 21% of snaps.

  • Despite the defensive end room dealing with some injuries, DE Ben Banogu continues to see limited snaps.
