Colts vs. Raiders primer: NFL Week 10 odds, picks, injuries, TV, streaming

For a midseason game involving struggling teams, this Indianapolis Colts visit to the Las Vegas Raiders is mighty interesting.

The Colts (3-5-1) have undergone major changes each of the past two weeks, culminating with the firing of coach Frank Reich and pulling Jeff Saturday away from ESPN as interim coach. Indianapolis has been competitive defensively but inept on offense. Colts assistant quarterbacks coach Parks Frazier will be calling the plays.

Linebacker Shaquille Leonard had a setback with his back/ankle injury and was placed on injured reserve.

The Raiders (2-6) have surrendered a lead of at least 17 points on three occasions this season, including last weekend against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Josh McDaniels, in his first season as coach, is feeling heat.

If the name Josh McDaniels is familiar, that's because he was hired to coach the Colts in 2018, but he backed out the day before he was supposed to be introduced. Colts general manager Chris Ballard then hired Reich.

Here's what else is going on in Las Vegas: Linebacker Blake Martinez, who led the Raiders in tackles last week, announced his retirement. Also, two key pass-catchers, tight end Darren Waller and wide receiver Hunter Renfrow, have been placed on injured reserve, as has season-long leading tackler Divine Diablo.

So it's pretty weird entering NFL Week 10 action.

Colts vs. Raiders picks, predictions

Pete Prisco, CBS Sports: Raiders 28-19

This is basically an elimination game of sorts. These two have been major disappointments so far. The Colts fired Frank Reich, hiring Jeff Saturday to take over, but it won't matter. Their offense is a mess. The Raiders will win this one easily.

Sheil Kapadia, The Ringer: Raiders cover

It feels like everyone is going to be on the Raiders here, and I usually like to avoid sides like that, but this Colts situation just has “train wreck” written all over it.

Bleacher Report: Raiders 26-21

The Raiders should win this game, but bettors cannot trust this squad to cover because of its late-game collapses. Furthermore, Colts defensive coordinator Gus Bradley served in the same position for the Silver and Black last year; he knows a thing or two about quarterback Derek Carr’s tendencies. Lastly, if running back Jonathan Taylor plays, he could make Vegas sweat it out down the wire. The Raiders gave up 168 rushing yards to the Jaguars on Sunday.

Vinnie Iyer, Sporting News: Raiders 27-20

The Colts are breaking in a new inexperienced coach, Jeff Saturday, with likely another week of no Jonathan Taylor and a struggling second-year QB Sam Ehlinger. Indianapolis' wide receivers have been curbed by Ehlinger, which is another much-needed break for Maxx Crosby and the Las Vegas' defense. Derek Carr, Davante Adams and Josh Jacobs will all get right in the same game to ensure no upset vs. an opponent that almost hired Josh McDaniels over now fired Frank Reich.

David Hill, The New York Times: Raiders cover

The Raiders are lucky to host a team going through its own dysfunction this week: Two weeks ago, Las Vegas was shut out, and last week, the team blew a 17-point lead (the third such lead it has blown this season). This game is as good of an opportunity for them to work out the kinks as they will get this season.
