Columbia Center neighborhood gets its 1st grocery + New Prosser winery

Natural Grocers plans an Aug. 23 opening date for its first Tri-City location.

The Lakewood, Colo.-based natural and organic grocery chain is converting the former JoAnn Fabric & Craft spot, 751 N. Columbia Center Blvd., Kennewick, into its new home.

The chain confirmed plans for the Tri-Cities in May. It has been making visible progress as it converts the 16,200-square-foot building into a grocery store ever since. The project is valued at $812,000 in a building permit issued by the city of Kennewick this spring.

The store is expected to employ 16 and will sell 100% organic produce, body care, books, bulk foods, dairy products, dietary supplements, frozen products, grab-and-go grocery items, household items, organic pet products, meat and seafood.

Kennewick is one of three stores opening this summer. The others are in Loveland, Colo., and Twin Falls, Idaho.

New winery for Prosser

Enodav Wine Company of Grandview will build a winery and tasting room at Vinters Village in Prosser after purchasing a site from the Port of Benton.

Enodav Wine Company LLC, a growing Grandview winery led by David Rodriguez, will open a winery and tasting room at Prosser’s Vinters Village.

The Port of Benton agreed to sell two acres in the village’s second phase to Eodav for about $138,400 at its July 12 commission meeting.

Rodriguez, who began making wine in 2018 shortly after college, said Enodav currently produces 3,000 cases.

His goal is to expand production to 10,000 cases in 10 years. its future home is on Port Avenue, which curves through the wine-oriented development.

Bombing Range Brewing buys building

The Port of Benton also agreed to sell some property it formerly leased to Bombing Range Brewing Co. in June.

Mike and Dashia Hopp, who opened Bombing Range at 2000 Logston Blvd. in 2016, are paying $1.7 million for the property.

The nearly 5 acres includes a nearly 18,000-square-foot building.

RE/MAX Horizon opens in Richland

Peggy Beecher and Bryan Verhei have opened a new franchise of RE/MAX Holdings, the Denver-based real estate firm.

The duo opened RE/MAX Horizon at 723 The Parkway while they build a permanent location at 1419 Meadow Hills Drive.

Beecher and Verhei have been in real estate since 2017 and 2016, respectively. RE/MAX Horizon is recruiting real estate agents to join its current team of five agents. Go to joinremax.com for information.
