Columbia Gas wants to decrease its rates. (Yes, you read that right.)

Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania has filed a request with the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission for a decrease to gas rates.

The gas company has requested an overall decrease of $89.3 million per year, which would take place on Oct. 1 if approved. Residential customers would see an average savings of 12%-15% per bill, and commercial customers would see around 18% in savings per bill.

To find out how the decreased rates would affect your bill, call 1-888-460-4332, or visit Columbia Gas online at columbiagaspa.com.

After reviewing the request, the Utility Commission may approve all, some or none of the rate decrease.

Those who object to the rate decrease can file a complaint with the Public Utility Commission by sending a letter to the Secretary of the Commission, 400 North Street, Harrisburg, PA 17120.
