Columbia Heights CVS to close in February

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — CVS announced that one of its D.C. locations in Columbia Heights will be closing its doors in February.

A spokesperson confirmed to DC News Now that the store at 33031 14th St. NW will be closing down on Feb. 29.

CVS said that prescriptions will automatically be transferred to the store at 1755 Columbia Rd. NW. Patients can also fill prescriptions at other stores.

In a statement, the spokesperson said that employees were also “offered comparable roles within the company.”

In October of 2023, customers had reported that shelves at that CVS location were empty.

Security officials confirmed at that time that the store had stopped stocking items due to high rates of theft.

The spokesperson said that there are over 50 CVS locations in D.C.
