Columbia University President on Trump’s Section 230 repeal proposal

Columbia University President, Lee C. Bollinger, discussed President Trump’s desire to repeal Section 230 of the of the Communications Decency Act, which he says allows social media companies to stifle conservative voices. Bollinger says repealing the law “is inconsistent with the First Amendment and the constitutional development of the last century…for the government to try to punish speakers, and that includes the press and social media platforms at the moment, because of the content…that is a deeply, deeply troubling motivation.”
