What is the Columbia weather forecast for the SC high school football state championships?

From Thursday to Saturday, South Carolina high school football teams will compete for state championships at Benedict College in Columbia.

As we prepare to watch teams achieve the grand prize, here's what the weather is expected to be like at Charlie W. Johnson Stadium each day of the state title games.

The Class AAA state championship between Powdersville and Beaufort kicks off the scheudle at 7 p.m. Thursday. Expect a chilly evening of 35 degrees with a light breeze of 5 mile per hour winds. It should be dry with just 1% chance of rain, according to AccuWeather.

On Friday, the Class AA title game between Abbeville and Oceanside Collegiate will start the day. It should be a mostly sunny and cool day with a high of 51 degrees with 23% chance of cloud cover.

The Friday evening game between Christ Church and Johnsonville for the Class A championship at 7 p.m. will be a bit cooler. It's expected to be 47 degrees with 92% humidity and a 10% chance of rain.

On Saturday, the final day of state championships, the weather for the Class AAAAA title game between Dutch Fork and Fort Dorchester at noon looks to be pleasant with a high of 73 degrees and 90% cloud cover.

During the Class AAAA title game Saturday night between Northwestern at South Florence, it's expected to remain cloudy. The temperature is supposed to drop to 61 degrees with a 25% chance of rain.
