Columbian Park Zoo accepting summer internship applications

LAFAYETTE, Ind. − Columbian Park Zoo is accepting applications for its 2023 Summer Internship Program.

This program is looking for current college students and recent graduates, according to a release from the zoo. Participants will be able to build relevant job skills and take part in hands-on experiences through the program.

"All academic majors are encouraged to apply," the release states. "Internship opportunities vary by season but include multiple focus-areas in both the Animal Care and Education Departments."

Applications are available online at columbianparkzoo.org. The deadline for application submission is Monday, March 6.

Those accepted into the program will be required to work a minimum of 20 hours per week for a minimum of 13 weeks between May and August, with flexible start and end dates. Those with greater availability are encouraged to apply, according to the release.

"All internships are unpaid," the release says. "Housing and transportation are the responsibility of the intern. Flexible scheduling is available, including weekends, to accommodate most class and work schedules.
