It's time to celebrate central Ohio's area code.

What is 614 Day?

614 Day is an annual, free celebration of all things Columbus, celebrating the culture, history, local talent and accomplishments orchestrated by Warhol & WALL ST., a consumer engagement agency, and in partnership with the Columbus Fashion Alliance. The event will be held at the John F. Wolfe Columbus Commons on Wednesday, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The name comes from the 614 area code for Columbus and is celebrated on June 14 (6-14).

What activities are there?

614 Day is a family friendly event with live entertainment and food trucks as well as a game zone, vendor pavilion and beer garden, almost all of which involve local artists and establishments, Christopher Jones, CMO of Warhol & WALL ST, said.

There will be a 614 Day toast at some point during the event and six 614 Day awards given out, one gift every hour. These awards will be recognizing those who are "Stalwarts in the city", have been a part of 614 day, an individual moving the city forward in some way or an individual within the city that they feel should be recognized, Jones said.

RSVPs available

The event page includes a link to RSVP along with a list of the numerous artists performing including Big Fat heads, Satele, The Raw Soundz, The Orange Soda, and more.

Jones said that 614 Day will also have merchandise as they do every year. Each year the logo is designed by a different local artist and the merchandise for this year was designed by The Columbus Fashion Alliance. Merchandise is limited and it is recommended that if individuals are interested in purchasing T-shirts, that they do so early.

Can I celebrate early?

On Sunday at 4 p.m., 614 Day is hosting a kickoff party at Seventh Son Brewing Co., to bring the community together and get excited for Wednesday, Jones said.

"Just to get everybody ready for 614 Day, celebrating local with each other so we can celebrate local on the big day," Jones said.
