Columbus Academy's Angela Hu named Columbus area high school athlete of the week

In a vote that ended Oct. 21, Dispatch.com readers selected the Athlete of the Week for competitions that took place from before Oct. 16.

This week's winner is Columbus Academy golfer Angela Hu.

Hu finished with a two-day total of 157 to tie for sixth and help the Vikings win the program’s first Division II state title.

Hu received 32% of the vote and was followed by New Albany football player Dylan Rosser, who had 26.2% of the votes. Next was Bloom-Carroll football player Dylan Armentrout (7.2%), Pickerington North football player Preston Bowman (5.4%), Dublin Jerome soccer player Sophia Penegor (5%), and Olentangy Berlin football player Kyle Jackowski (4.8%).

Rosser, the runner-up, rushed for 127 yards on 26 carries in a 16-15 win over Pickerington North..

In a win over Teays Valley, Armentrout 189 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns, returned three kickoffs for 50 yards and had three tackles. He rushed 21 times for 126 yards and a TD and caught a pass for 13 yards and a TD. He has 1,691 all-purpose yards (1,306 rushing, 209 receiving, and 176 in kick returns) and 13 TDs.

Bowman caught six passes for 127 yards and a touchdown in a 16-15 loss to New Albany.

In wins over Hilliard Darby, Grove City and Bishop Watterson, Penegor had five goals and an assist. She finished the regular season with 14 goals and eight assists.

Jackowski had 10 tackles (nine solo, one for loss) and a sack in a 24-10 win over Marysville. He leads the team with 64.5 tackles and has 5.5 tackles for loss and one sack.
