Remember that $50 million project? These Columbus city offices are moving this summer

If you plan to visit a Columbus Consolidated Government office in the next several weeks, you might want to check where it is instead of relying on your memory.

That’s because CCG has started Phase 1 of moving some departments into the former Synovus property at 1111 First Ave., which is being called Columbus City Hall.

The moves are part of the nearly $50 million project Columbus Council unanimously approved in September 2021 for CCG to buy and renovate those Synovus buildings.

This is one of the four Synovus office buildings that are part of the Columbus Consolidated Government’s $25 million purchase to move some city offices into approximately 250,000 square feet bordered by 11th Street, 12th Street, Broadway and First Avenue in downtown Columbus.
