Columbus Clippers losing ground to the Nashville Sounds with fifth straight loss
Saturday's game: Sounds 6, Clippers 2
Recap: Three solo home runs in the first inning set the tone for the Sounds, who beat the Clippers for the fifth straight game. Brice Turang, David Dahl and Jon Singleton put the Sounds up 3-0 and Tyler White added a solo shot in the fifth to help extend the Sounds' lead to 6 1/2 games over the Clippers in the International League West division. Aaron Pinto, making his second career start and first since July 2019 (with Lake County), lasted 1 2/3 innings, allowing three runs on four hits. The bullpen combined for 10 strikeouts. David Fry hit his 13th home run of the season and Alex Call had four hits, including two doubles. Nashville's Tyler Herb (1-4) struck out six over six innings, allowing one run on four hits.
