Columbus Crowd Protests Against Police Killing of Teenager Ma’Khia Byrant

Protesters marched up to Ohio Statehouse, Columbus, on April 21, after a police officer shot and killed a 16-year-old girl the previous day.

Ma’Khia Bryant was shot by Columbus police officer Nicholas Reardon, police confirmed on Wednesday.

Police said the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) would independently investigate the shooting. Columbus Mayor Andrew Ginther said “BCI will determine whether the officer involved was wrong and if he was we will hold him accountable as we have other officers.”
