COLUMBUS GROVE — Columbus Grove pitchers Tayt Birnesser and Brenton Renner combined for the shutout. Birnesser pitched the first five frames and gave up three hits while striking out four and walking one to secure the win. Renner recorded the save. At the plate Trey Sautter went 2 for 3 with 1 RBI and Noah Macke was 1 for 3. For Crestview, Aiden Lichensteiger was 2 for 3.

LEIPSIC — Leipsic pitcher Tyler Sickmiller fired a two-hit shutout while striking out five and walking one. At the plate Sickmiller was 2 for 4 with two runs scored. Lorenzo Walther had a double and drove in a run and Quin Schroeder was 1 for 2 with a run scored and an RBI.

Wapakoneta 11, Marion Local 0

WAPAKONETA — Wapakoneta's Trevor Crow tossed a five-inning, one-hitter as he struck out seven and walked three. Offensively for the Redskins, Braden Goulet had a double, scored twice and drove in a run and Garrett Siefring was 1 for 1 with two runs scored and 2 RBI. Ryan Camper also drove in two runs. Marion Local's Dylan Fleck had the lone hit.

ST. MARYS — St. Marys Braedan Trogdlon went 4 for 5 with four runs scored an an RBI and Dylan Trogdlon went 2 for 3 with a double and a triple and 3 RBI and a run scored. Joey Caldwell was 2 for 2 with 2 RBI and Adam Tobin was 2 for 5 with a run scored and 1 RBI. Ty Kiehl drove in two runs. For St. Henry, Grant Kunkler went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI and one run scored.

Shawnee pitchers Logan Maxwell and Luke Cowan combined on four-hit shutout. Maxwell went six innings and struck out nine and walked 1 and Maxwell pitched one frame and struck out 2 and walked 1. At the plate, Caden Vermilion was 3 for 4 with 3 runs scored and Derek Lyons drove in two runs. Anthony Best went 2 for 4. New Bremen's Mitchell Hays went 2 for 3.

DELPHOS — Kalida's Justin Siebeneck went 2 for 3 with a double and 3 RBI and Ryan Lucke was 3 for 4 with 1 RBI. Jaden Smtih 3 for 3 with a double and Gabe Roof, Ayden Warnecke and Brandon Miller all had 2 hits. For Delphos, Trent Lindeman was 1 for 4 with a home run and 2 RBI and Brady Kerner was 2 for 4 with a double and 3 RBI.

Elida's Nick Niebel went 20 for 2 with 1 RBI and Brice Engle and Dylan Marston each drove in runs.

ADA — Ada's Daicy Robinson went 2 for 2 with a double and an RBI, and Leona Dalton, who was the winning pitcher and recorded 13 strike outs, was 1 for 3 with an RBI. Kaya Wince had a double and drove in a run and Tori Green was 2 for 4 on the night. For Bluggton Ryley Busch was 1 for 2 with a double and an RBI. Dyllan Worcester, Grace Myers, Rebekah Hoff and Sophia Bricker all had base hits.

Bluffton falls to 2-7 on the year.

COLUMBUS GROVE — Crestview's Olivia Cunningham went 2 for 3 with 4 RBI and two runs scored and Kayelyn Castle was 2 for 5 with 2 RBI and two runs scored. Olivia Heckler went 2 for 3 with 3 RBI. For Columbus Grove, Kam Utendorf went 2 for 5 with one run and Madison Zimmerly drove in a run.

Lima Central Catholic got singles wins from Enrico Pittalia, Aaron Simmons and Brady Koenig and a doubles win from the team of Allie Braglia and Hayden Bader. The St. Marys pair of Conner Milner and Isaac Wibbeler secured a victory.

LCC improves to 5-1 and St. Marys falls to 3-2.

Ottawa-Glandorf 3, Ada 2

ADA — Ottawa-Glandorf got a singles win from Eli Schmenk and doubles victories from the team of Jaden Lehman and Josh Walls and the pair of Hayden Kuhlman and Bryant Schroeder. Ada got singles wins from Miranda Wills and Dexter Woods III.

Van Wert 4, Bluffton 1

VAN WERT — Van Wert got singles wins from Jace Fast and Bryce Miller and doubles victories from the duo of Micah Rager and Kaden Thomas and the team of Ian Cowan and Evan Knittle. Bluffton's Luke Shadle scored a singles win.

Van Wert evens its overall record at 2-2.

Shawnee 5, Piqua 0

PIQUA — Shawnee got singles wins from Gabe Burke, Mason Stahl and Mac Davis and doubles wins from the pair of Brayden Ward and Niel OK and the team of Adam Stump and Seth Grishop.

Shawnee improves to 5-1.

Rescheduled

The Upper Scioto Valley baseball and softball games scheduled to be played at Upper Scioto Valley against Ridgemont Monday have been cancelled and will be made up on May 7.

Bluffton sweeps

BLUFFTON, Ohio — The Bluffton University baseball team swept a pair of mercy-rule contests with the Mount St. Joseph's thanks to timely hitting and two outstanding pitching performances by seniors Garrett O'Reilly (Galena/Orange) and Tommy Siemer (Liberty Township/Lakota East). The Beavers improved to 9-15 overall and in the Heartland Conference. MSJ fell to 8-16 on both accounts.

O'Reilly tossed a gem on Monday, allowing just three hits in his complete-game shutout. He struck out five and walked three while improving to 2-3 on the season.

Towell went 3-of-4 with two RBI and two runs scored. Reynolds and Winiarski both chipped in with two RBI, while Latkofsky and Jaxon Rogan (Marysville) both scored three times in game one.

Siemer took the handoff in game two and ran with it, striking out nine Lions through the first three innings. His offense gave him all the runs he would need with a four-spot in the bottom of the first. Reynolds doubled home Latkofsky and Jeff Strayer (Columbus/Thomas Worthington) delivered Reynolds and Towell with his triple to right field. Luke Hanson (Somerset/Sheridan) made it 4-0 when his ringing double to left plated Strayer.

Reid uhl went 3-of-4 with two RBI and two runs scored. Towell knocked in three and Rogan scored three runs for the second time on Monday. Strayer drove in two runs, while DeWeese crossed the dish twice.

ONU wins John Carroll Invite

SHAKER HEIGHTS —The Ohio Northern men's golf team won the John Carroll Cashera Invitational on Monday at the Shaker Heights Country Club.

The Polar Bears (12-19-2 overall) won the 5-team tournament with 310 strokes. John Carroll was second with 311, Baldwin Wallace was third with 317, Mount Union was fourth with 320 and Heidelberg was fifth with 344.

Sophomore Josh Steyer (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) led ONU with a 3-over par 75, just two shots off the lead.

Junior Austin White (Harrisburg, Pa./Susquehanna Township) shot a 76, junior Andrew Slusher (Covington) carded a 79, junior Jared Hernandez (Van Wert) had an 80 and junior Nolan Kimberly (Zanesville) posted an 82
