Columbus police identify man found shot by Italian Village dumpster

A man who was found shot near a dumpster behind a bar in Italian Village early Monday morning has been identified as a 29-year-old man who lived nearby.

Isiaha Thompson-Angus was found shot around 4:15 a.m. Monday behind The Go-Go, located at 987 N. High St. in Italian Village. He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

Thompson-Angus lived just north of Italian Village.

Columbus police said video from the area shows Thomspson-Angus and a man wearing a red shirt with white writing, long black pants and black shoes start fighting behind the bar.

As the fight continues, another man wearing a black T-shirt with a design on the front, light-colored shorts and black shoes runs toward the fight from Hamlet Street. The video shows the man reaching into the front pocket of his shorts before joining the fight.

At the same time as the fight, a woman is seeing running from the parking lot across Hamlet Street toward the fight. She was wearing a black shirt with a light design on the front, light-colored shorts and white slide-type shoes.

The trio goes toward the dumpster and "almost immediately" run away from the area. The man in the black shirt runs south on Hamlet Street and the man in the red shirt and the woman fled south.
