Columbus Police invites locals to join CPD for ‘Coffee with a Cop’ event on March 18

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) – The Columbus Police Department is inviting locals to join them at their upcoming event Coffee with a Cop.

The event is scheduled from 9:45 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Starbucks at 8132 Veterans Parkway.

CPD says Coffee with a Cop is an initiative that the police department took on to “bring law enforcement officers and the community members they serve together in a relaxed environment, to foster positive interactions and meaningful conversations.”

During the event, CPD says there will not be any agendas or speeches, instead, it is an opportunity to connect with men and women who work for CPD over a cup of coffee.

The goal for CPD is to create an opportunity for community members to ask questions and voice concerns, and CPD says “most importantly, get to know the officers who work tirelessly to keep our community safe.”

We believe that strong community relationships are essential for effective policing, and events like Coffee with a Cop play a vital role in building trust and understanding between law enforcement and the community.
