Come and get it: California burger chain set to open another Charlotte-area restaurant

A California burger chain is opening its sixth North Carolina store in Mooresville as the company expands in the Charlotte area.

The Habit Burger Grill, known for its cooked-to-order chargrilled burgers, will open Oct. 4 at 379 W. Plaza Drive, just east of Interstate 77, exit 36 in a former Popeye’s spot.

It’s the second restaurant to debut this year in the Charlotte region. In March, Habit Burger opened another restaurant at 2121 W. Roosevelt Blvd., near Monroe Crossing Road.

Both stores are part of Habit Burger’s 15-store expansion plan in the Charlotte region.

What to expect at The Habit Burger

Habit Burger cooks it burgers over an open flame.

Similar to its other stores, the Mooresville menu includes sandwiches such as marinated chicken, sushi-grade ahi tuna and tenderloin steaks, sides like tempura green beans and salads, plus milkshakes.

The 2,868-square-foot free-standing restaurant will offer drive-thru, dine-in and takeout, as well as curbside pick-up and delivery through The Habit Mobile App and online at order.habitburger.com. Delivery is through third-party vendors: Grubhub, DoorDash, Postmates and Uber Eats.

Indoor self-serve kiosks also are available.

The Habit Burger is open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
