Come out for National Night Out today, the police department's annual community building event

PETERSBURG—National Night Out is an event police departments across the country put together every year to encourage police and citizens to build relationships in a non-threatening environment. This year, NNO is held on Aug. 1.

Today, Petersburg is hosting their National Night Out at these locations. Food, vendors, and nonprofits will also be set up across the city. Police say that it's a chance for the citizens to share their concerns with them.

  • Emmanuel Apostolic Temple: 104 Slagle Dr., 5-8 p.m.

  • Faith and Hope Temple COGIC: 1800 E. Washington St. 6-8 p.m.

  • Resurrection Church: 216 E. Washington St., 5-8 p.m.

  • Pin Oaks: 37 Slagle Ave., 5-8 p.m.

  • Cavallier Apartments: 200 Cavalier Dr., 5-8 p.m.

  • H20 Church: 49 Walnut Blvd., 5-8 p.m.

  • Oakridge/ Overbrook: 2014 Woodland Rd., 5-8 p.m.

  • Trinity Health and Wellness: 28 Goodrich Ave., 11 a.m.-6 p.m.

  • About the Minors: 7 Bollingbrook St., 4-10 p.m.

  • New Beginnings Church: 604 S. Jefferson St., 6-8:30 p.m.

  • Poplar Lawn/ Park Assoc.: 351 S. Sycamore St, 5-8 p.m.
