Comedian John Crist to perform May 19 at UND's Fritz Auditorium

Jan. 24—GRAND FORKS — Comedian John Crist is scheduled to perform May 19 at the Chester Fritz Auditorium as part of his "Emotional Support" tour, Betty Allan, auditorium director, has announced.

Tickets, which go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 26, start at $29.75 plus fees. They are available at the Fritz Auditorium box office, 3475 University Ave., or through

Crist is touted as one of today's fast-rising stand-up comedians, with more than one billion video views and more than five million fans on social media. His sold-out performances at venues coast to coast earned him a spot on the Pollstar's Top 100 Global Tours list in 2019 with more than 197,000 tickets sold.

Crist is widely known for viral videos, such as "Honest Football Coach," "Every Parent at Disney," "Brands that need to be canceled," and hundreds more.

In 2021, he began his multi-city national theater tour, titled "Fresh Cuts," selling out theaters all over the U.S. He has also performed at venues worldwide, and has made appearances on ESPN, Sports Illustrated, CBS Sports, Barstool Sports and Buzzfeed, among others.

In 2022, he released his second special "What are We Doing" on YouTube and released his best-selling book "Delete That". He also produces a weekly podcast, called "Net Positive."

When asked about where he finds inspiration for his jokes, Crist said, in a news release, "I grew up in the Deep South, my dad is a pastor, and I was the third of eight homeschooled children. My first job was at Chick-fil-A. Coming from a background like that, how do you not write jokes?"
