Comedian Matt Rife adds additional Columbus shows following surge in web traffic

Due to overwhelming demand, central Ohio native and comedian Matt Rife has added more dates and times for his tour stop in Columbus this fall.

As previously announced, he will bring the ProbleMATTic World Tour to the Palace Theatre on Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. He will also perform that night at 10 p.m., as well as Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m.

Only single seats are available for the 7 p.m. show on Oct. 11.

Presale tickets went on sale Tuesday at 10 a.m. (using the code MATTIX) at mattrifeofficial.com, but the website has been crashing periodically.

Columbus fans can access tickets on cbusarts.com, but they may need to be patient; as of Tuesday afternoon, the wait time was over an hour, with thousands of other eager concertgoers in line. And ticket-buyers were only given 10 minutes to complete their purchases.

Who is Matt Rife?

Rife grew up about an hour northwest of Columbus in North Lewisburg, and he also lived New Albany and Mount Vernon. In 2019, he competed in NBC’s “Bring the Funny” comedy competition.

He also has appeared on MTV's "Wild 'N Out" and "Brooklyn Nine-Nine." He has released two comedy specials, "Only Fans" and "Matthew Steven Rife," on YouTube. He will be taping a third special this fall.

The funnyman, who has gained popularity online in recent years, has 14 million followers on TikTok.
