Comedian Shane Gillis coming to Salem Civic Center in June

SALEM, Va. (WFXR) — From live performances to festivals, events for Summer 2024 are starting to pop up across the Roanoke Valley.

The Salem Civic Center announced that Shane Gillis will be headlining the arena for a stand-up comedy show on June 21. The comedian was recently announced as the host of Saturday Night Live on Feb. 22.

The Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania native is an actor and writer. In 2016, he won Philly’s Funniest and Helium Comedy Club and was named an “Up-Next” comic at Comedy Central’s 2019 Clusterfest in San Francisco.

Two years later, Gillis released his debut comedy special “Shane Gillis: Live in Austin” on YouTube. To date, the special has over 20 million views.

While staying in the comedy field, Gillis is also a regular guest on Sirius XM’s The Bonfire, Spotify’s The Joe Rogan Experience, and Barstool Sports KFC Radio. He has written for Comedy Central’s “Delcron Proper,” and co-created wrote, and starred in the YouTube sketch series “Gelly & Keeves: The Special.”

In October 2022, Gillis and John McKeever teamed up with Booklight Entertainment and Outback Presents to produce and release “Gilly and Keeves.”

Tickets to Gillis’s stand-up show this summer range from $42 to $92. Pre-sale tickets go live on Feb. 21 and Feb. 22 at 10 a.m. and guests can use the promo code, “comedy.”
