Have you seen “Hamilton” yet?

The Lin-Manuel Miranda hip-hop musical recently won the Pulitzer Prize drama award, making tickets nearly impossible to come by – at least certainly more difficult than conceiving, suggests a recent skit by online comedy site, Above Average.

The skit entitled “Hamilton Tickets Are Better Than A Baby” shows a group of friends getting together over drinks when one announces that she’s pregnant. After the friends give the obligatory “oohs” and congrats, another friend announces that she too has news to share: she got tickets to “Hamilton.”

To that, the friends nearly jump out of their seats with excitement. As the other friend continues to share details of her pregnancy – she’s having a girl, her due date is in May and they’re naming the baby Olivia Jane – the friends seem uninterested and would rather hear more about the “Hamilton” tickets.

As the mom-to-be grows frustrated, citing her five rounds of IVF, one friend explains that babies aren’t for everyone.

“We are happy for you, OK? It’s just that only some people want a baby and everyone wants ‘Hamilton’ tickets.”

Another friend pipes in saying that everyone can have a baby.

“Yeah, I mean my 13 year old cousin had a baby and she’s 13.”

The real poke comes when the friend with “Hamilton” tickets shows a picture of them and they’ve been superimposed into a sonogram picture. This is a comedy skit after all.
