ComfortDelGro Driving Centre reverses entry curb for those with 'possible' COVID exposure
SINGAPORE — Those "with possible exposure" to COVID-19 indicated in their TraceTogether app will no longer be denied entry to the ComfortDelGro Driving Centre (CDC).
In response to media queries by Yahoo News Singapore, ComfortDelGro's group chief branding and communications officer Tammy Tan on Friday (7 May) said that the CDC had earlier taken additional safeguards for the health and safety of our learners and students.
"Given the new TraceTogether guidelines, we will cease the added measures and no longer deny entry to anyone with 'possible exposure' to COVID-19," she said.
This comes as local media reports said at least two students were not allowed to enter the school, following the implementation of entry checks there on Monday.
A joint statement by the Ministry of Health & Smart Nation and Digital Government Office posted on Friday stressed that businesses should not use the exposure alert information of anyone using the TraceTogether App to grant or deny access to premises.
"Persons who are deemed close contacts of a case with COVID-19, identified through TraceTogether and contact tracing interviews, would have already received a quarantine order," it added.
The statement also noted that the risk of those who are in the same general vicinity as a case with COVID-19 of being infected "is very small" as they may not have interacted with the case at close quarters.
"Such persons are not restricted from continuing with their regular activities," it added.
