New comics debuting in Record-Courier Oct. 2, including Peanuts, Beetle Bailey
The Record-Courier's comics page will look a little different in the near future.
Starting Oct. 2, there will be several new comics joining the paper, while a few others are saying goodbye.
Newspaper comics are constantly evolving to reflect the culture and tastes of the times, but we've not updated our comics lineup in quite some time.
The USA TODAY Network, which includes the Record-Courier, surveyed its loyal readers and opted to refresh the comics offerings at all its publications.
Based on that data, we are keeping the following weekday and Saturday comics: Blondie, For Better or Worse, Baby Blues, Garfield, Zits, Family Circus and Pickles. We will be adding Beetle Bailey, Hagar the Horrible, Dennis The Menace and Peanuts.
In the Sunday color comics section, we are keeping: Blondie, Peanuts, Baby Blues, Hagar The Horrible, Zits, Garfield, Beetle Bailey, Family Circus and Dennis The Menace. We are adding For Better or Worse, Pickles, Foxtrot, Pearls Before Swine, Jump Start, Ziggy, Marmaduke, Non Sequitur and Crabgrass. There will be two more Sunday comics overall.
All of our comics will continue to be included in the Record-Courier's eNewspaper. If you favorite comic is not listed above, check out https://www.record-courier.com/comics to view additional comics we don't feature in our print edition.
