Kingston history exhibit's open house is Nov. 9

KINGSTON – The Kingston Public Library will hold an open house at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, at the Adams Center, 33 Summer St. The event will feature a new exhibit titled “A Glimpse into Kingston’s Past Across Collections,” which samples archival and historical materials. The exhibit will be open regularly from Monday, Nov. 14, through Thursday, Dec. 15. Genealogy presentation Nov. 14 at Quincy library

QUINCY – The Thomas Crane Library, at 40 Washington St., will present “Upon Receipt of Ancestry DNA Results,” an installment in the Family History Research Series, from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14. Carver Council on Aging offers day trip Dec. 7

CARVER – The Carver Council on Aging will host a day trip titled "Yankee Candle & Bright Lights" on Wednesday, Dec. 7, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. The event includes lunch at Storrowton Tavern and Carriage House, as well as stops at Yankee Candle and Forest Park for the "Bright Nights" display of Christmas lights. Braintree church youth group offers free lunch to needy

BRAINTREE – St. Catherine’s Greek Orthodox Youth Association will welcome those in need from Braintree and nearby towns for a Thanksgiving lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, at 119 Common St. The meal is free and all are welcome to attend. Hingham coffeehouse concert to honor long-time volunteers

HINGHAM – The Old Ship Coffeehouse will host a concert at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, at Parish Hall, 107 Main St. Southern Rail, an up-tempo bluegrass band, will headline the event, which will honor five long-time volunteers. Whitman church's Harvest Fair set for Nov. 19

WHITMAN – All Saints Church at 44 Park Ave. will hold its Harvest Fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19.
