Kid's craft market to take place Sunday in Hingham

HINGHAM – Hingham will hold a children’s craft market from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23 on South Street downtown. In conjunction with the Hingham Arts Walk, the market advertises “handmade crafts by children for children.” There will also be musical performances and local art on display. Alzheimer's caregiver support group to meet Wednesday

Boo-tacular event at Pembroke library on Thursday

PEMBROKE – The Pembroke Public Library will hold its Boo-tacular event from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, 142 Center St. In conjunction with the Pembroke Council on Aging, the program will allow kids to learn autumn themed American Sign Language phrases and pick out a special treat for every sign they learn. Lecture about land records to be given by register of deeds

NORWOOD – Norfolk Register of Deeds William O’Donnell will give a presentation titled "Norwood Notable Land Records: People, Places and Properties” from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, 33 Walpole St. The presentation and accompanying booklet “tells a piece of the story of Norwood from its earliest days to the present," O’Donnell said in a statement. Women's club hosts Halloween on the Common

NORWELL – Norwell Women’s Club presents Halloween on the Common, at 345 Main St., on Saturday, Oct. 29 from 1  to 4 p.m. The event includes a pumpkin decoration contest, a costume parade at 2:30 p.m., a trick-or-treating table on the common, a selfie station and more. Church to hold a 2-day celebration for 400th anniversary

PLYMOUTH – The Church of Pilgrimage is celebrating its 400th anniversary Saturday, Oct. 29 and Sunday, Oct. 30 at 8 Town Square. On Saturday, events will begin at 9:30 a.m. and run until 3:30 p.m. Programs include coffee and tea, devotions with church covenants, a Tour of Burial Hill, a light lunch and more. Annual presidential wreath ceremony in Quincy schedule for Oct. 31

QUINCY – United First Parish Church will hold its annual Presidential Wreath Laying Ceremony to honor President John Adam’s 287th birthday at noon Monday, Oct. 31, 1306 Hancock St.  The wreath will be presented on behalf of President Joe Biden by Lieutenant Commander Alicia Ping from the Navy Operational Support Center in Quincy. Students from North Quincy High School, Quincy High School and the Woodward School will speak on the theme "participation in democracy." The Navy’s Crosswinds Woodwind Quintet and the Quincy Choral Society will perform, and Quincy Mayor Thomas Koch, State Senator John Keenan and representatives from United First Parish Church will attend. A reception with a cake from Konditor Meister will follow the ceremony. For more information, visit ufpc.org.
