Comings & Goings: Dave's Hot Chicken to open soon on Route 30; huge warehouse sold

Update: The grand opening date for Dave's Hot Chicken in York was reported to be July 7 according to the restaurant's website. That has since changed to July 14. However, Bob Carpenter, director of construction & development for Dave's Hot Chicken, said that as of July 5, "we do not have a final grand opening date." He added that the restaurant is "currently undergoing the final inspection phase, and then a brief training phase to follow."

Dave's Hot Chicken: 1189 Loucks Road, York

Dave's Hot Chicken is coming to York for its first restaurant in Pennsylvania.

The fast-food chicken joint specializes in jumbo hot chicken tenders and sliders, along with sides of mac n’ cheese, French fries and more.

The official grand opening is slated for July 7.

Emigsville

A newly built industrial property in York recently sold for $54.4 million and will be leased by Hill’s Pet Nutrition.

The 483,770-square-foot industrial property at 405 Busser Road was purchased by Cabot Properties from Cushman & Wakefield.

Hill’s Pet Nutrition is a subsidiary of Colgate-Palmolive.

The property, which is part of the Core5 Logistics Center at Codorous Creek, is located at along I-83. It sits on 37.5 acres and features 78 loading docks, 99 trailer parking spots and two drive-in doors.

This is one of five warehouses constructed along Codoros Quarry on Busser Road.

Mechanicsburg

A. Duie Pyle has relaunched its brokerage services with a new office in Mechanicsburg.

The 99-year-old family-owned and operated provider of asset and non-asset-based supply chain solutions recently held an open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the relaunch of its brokerage division.

The Welty House has unveiled its first historical markers commemorating the events of the battle of Gettysburg and their impact on the country.

One landmark proclaims the Welty House as an official historic landmark, and the second features a detailed letter from John Rupp, who writes to his sister sharing how he and the family took shelter and hid in the Welty House basement through the duration of the battle.

Today, the Welty House is a part of the Brickhouse Inn, which is operated by US Ghost Adventures and owned by US Ghost Adventures founder and CEO Lance Zaal.

Mavis Discount Tire has leased a property in Dover, according to a Facebook post by Bennett Williams Commercial realty.

Donations

C&N bank has donated $800,000 to educational improvement, scholarship and pre-kindergarten scholarship organizations in Pennsylvania. The donations were made under the Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC).

Locally, Crispus Attucks Association, Inc. received $10,000, Guthrie Memorial Library (through the York County Library System) received $5,000, the Hanover Foundation for Excellence in Education, Inc. was awarded $5,000 and the YWCA York was given $10,000.
