F&M opens new headquarters

F&M Trust will cut the ribbon on its new corporate headquarters next week.

The facility is at 1500 Nitterhouse Drive in Chambersburg, Pa.

The celebration will begin at 5 p.m. Aug. 31 and will include the ribbon-cutting ceremony and tours of the new building.

A subsidiary of Franklin Financial Services Corp., F&M Trust is an independent community bank.

With approximately $1.8 billion in assets, F&M Trust has 22 locations in Franklin, Cumberland, Fulton and Huntingdon counties in Pennsylvania, and in Washington County, Maryland.

Later this year, F&M plans to celebrate the opening of its new Hagerstown office at 83 W. Washington St.

Tractor Supply Co. opens new store

The region's newest Tractor Supply Co. store is open at 5748 Fort Louon Road, Mercersburg, Pa.

The Tuscarora Area Chamber of Commerce has scheduled a ribbon-cutting and welcoming celebration for 9 a.m. Thursday at the new store.

Tractor Supply bills itself as "the largest rural lifestyle retailer in the United States" that focuses on "the needs of recreational farmers, ranchers and all those who enjoy living the rural lifestyle."

As of June 26, the company operated 2,016 Tractor Supply stores in 49 states, a customer mobile app and an e-commerce website.

New craft brewery opening this week

Down in Hagerstown, Md., Thick-N-Thin Brewing Co., Washington County's newest craft brewery, will start greeting customers soon.

The business has scheduled a soft opening from 3 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, according to the Washington County Chamber of Commerce.

The business is at 18330 Spark Drive, Suite 301, off Sharpsburg Pike south of Hagerstown.

Owners Adam and Sassan Shaool plan to offer craft brews as well as lighter beers, seltzers and ciders.

"Our motto is 'something for everybody,'" Shaool told Herald-Mail Media last month. "I think that we're going to cater to not just the craft brew crowd, but everyday crowd and the — I don't know what to call it — the more Washington County local drinking, kind of do-things-our-own-way as opposed to following the regular kind of craft-beer business model."

A larger grand opening celebration is being planned for November.

Groundbreaking for $22M investment

Ausblick Development/Workspace Property Group will celebrate the groundbreaking for their new facility going up at Western Maryland Parkway and West Washington Street in Hagerstown.

While work has been going on some time, the formal groundbreaking for the 236,000-square-foot industrial building will take place at noon Aug. 31 at the site, 10 Western Maryland Parkway.

According to a news release from the county, the project has an anticipated $22M capital investment and is looking to create at least 250 new jobs.
