Auto parts store, salon coming to Hagerstown shopping center

An automotive parts and accessories retailer and a hair cutting and related haircare services franchise will be coming to a shopping center on Garland Groh Boulevard, according to a news release from the property owner.

AutoZone Inc. and My Salon Suite, have signed leases with Continental Realty Corp. totaling more than 15,000 square feet of space at Centre at Hagerstown, according to the release. Melissa Sweeney, CRC’s commercial leasing manager, and Mason Berstein, vice president of KLNB Retail, represented the landlord in both transactions.

CRC, a Baltimore-based real estate investment and management company, acquired Centre at Hagerstown in 2019. The 300,791-square-foot property at 17850 Garland Groh Boulevard in Hagerstown, is anchored by Burlington, Home Goods, Marshalls, PetSmart, Regency Furniture, 2nd & Charles and Party City.

AutoZone, with more than 7,000 stores worldwide, bills itself as the largest retailer and distributor of automotive replacement parts and accessories in the Americas, according to the release. The company has opened nearly 100 new stores this year. The store is expected to open early next year. Nancy Catron, principal at Catron Real Estate Inc., represented the tenant.

My Salon Suite franchise owner Deepak Mokha signed a 6,509 square foot lease and expects to be operational early next year, according to the news release. The national company offers hair cutting, hair extensions and highlighting services; conditioning treatments to combat hair loss; facial and skin treatments; waxing; massage therapy; manicures, pedicures, and make-up services. Todd Shugarman, principal at Green Light Retail Real Estate Services, represented the tenant.

F&M Trust announces recent hires, promotions

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — F&M Trust is recently announced several hirings and promotions.

• Steve Nowowiejski has been hired as systems engineer.

Nowowiejski will provision, install, configure, operate and maintain the bank’s system hardware, software, and related infrastructure; assist with the evaluation and implementation of new bank technology; and serve as the top escalation point for technology support to bank employees.

Nowowiejski previously was an IT technician at BayVanguard Bank.

The Middle River, Md., resident is based at F&M Trust’s corporate headquarters in Chambersburg.

• Samantha Carbaugh has been hired as loan servicing records retention specialist.

Carbaugh will perform various duties relating to the processing of new, existing, and paid loans; maintain loan documents in accordance with an established retention schedule; and provide customers, loan officers, and other bank personnel with support and assistance relating to loan applications.

Carbaugh previously was an office manager at Safari Adventures Child Care and Education Center.

The Fayetteville, Pa., resident is based at F&M Trust’s corporate headquarters in Chambersburg.

• Pheonix Gilbert has been hired as management trainee.

Gilbert will participate in department rotations, job shadowing, professional mentoring, and a customized learning and development plan; observe policies and procedures; obtain first-hand knowledge of how the functions of the bank operate; and gain the required base knowledge, experience, and confidence for managerial positions.

The Chambersburg resident holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from Wilson College.

Gilbert is based at F&M Trust’s corporate headquarters in Chambersburg.

• Kathy Henson has been hired as loan servicing specialist.

Henson will process new, existing, and paid loans; review and prepare disbursement of insurance premiums and taxes; and provide customers, loan officers, and bank employees with support and assistance relating to loan questions.

Henson previously was a business banking associate.

Henson is based at F&M Trust’s corporate headquarters in Chambersburg.

• Kristan Johanson has been hired as staff accountant.

Johanson will prepare or assist in the preparation and filing of internal and external financial reports as required by various regulatory agencies; reconcile the investment portfolio; maintain the general ledger of the bank and parent company; and reconcile expense accruals.

Johanson previously was a staff accountant for Orrstown Bank.

The Chambersburg resident is a member of the Landis-McCleaf Marine Corps League auxiliary.

Johanson is based at F&M Trust’s corporate headquarters in Chambersburg.

• Owen McCleaf has been hired as credit analyst.

McCleaf will complete analyses and provide credit-related information regarding commercial credits; ensure that the analyses provided accurately reflect the risks associated with the credits; and provide accurate accounting of loan customers’ current banking relationships, including loan exposure and deposit balances.

McCleaf previously was a financial analyst intern at Martin’s Famous Pastry Shoppe.

• Logan Elliott has been promoted to business performance analyst

• Tangela Gibbons has been promoted to lead financial services representative for the West Side Community Office.

• Chad Rydbom has been promoted to vice president.

• Keira Velazquez has been promoted to lead financial services representative for the McConnellsburg Community Office.

• Megan Witmer has been promoted to Community Office Manager for the Memorial Square Community Office.

Callas Contractors marks employee anniversaries

Callas Contractors LLC recently recognized and employee for his exemplary service.

This year, Richard Murray has achieved the milestone of 30 years with the company.

At 20 years, each employee receives an engraved anniversary watch with the Callas logo, and every five years thereafter, a diamond is added at the quarter points of the watch face.

Carson Jewelers has assisted Callas in maintaining this tradition.
