Comings and Goings: Taylor Chip comes to York, downtown playhouse has new owner

A popular cookie company will soon be opening a location in York County.

Taylor Chip, a specialty cookie company based in Lancaster County, has decided to branch into York County after conducting a social media poll asking customers where they should expand.

An exact address has not yet been confirmed, but the new location will have 1,600 square feet of space.

Recently, the owners of Taylor Chip won the Young Entrepreneur of the Year award for eastern Pennsylvania, which spans 40 counties.

The company is also in the process of opening a location in Philadelphia.

L&E Playhouse: 41 W. Market St., York

L&E Playhouse, a business offering small toys with 90% Melissa and Doug options, will hold an official grand opening on June 30. It is located in the former Curious Little Playhouse space and will have a similar business model.

The venue operates as a birthday party and field trip location, and it is filled with toys to stimulate creativity, dexterity building, social skills and catering to sensory play as needed.

The York Expo Center announced the naming of the UPMC Arena.

The UPMC Arena, located on the 87-acre property of the York Expo Center, is an indoor arena that houses trade and consumer shows, motorsports, sporting events, and car shows. The 114,000-square-foot arena receives more than 750,000 visitors year-round and is home to more than 50 annual events.The American Marketing Association

The American Marketing Association has launched its third professional chapter in Pennsylvania and first in Central Pennsylvania, with nearly 80 marketing and strategic communications professionals joining as founding members in the first four months of opening membership.

The Central Pennsylvania chapter of the American Marketing Association is the first new AMA chapter to be formed in more than a decade and is currently the fastest-growing chapter in the nation. The nonprofit organization officially received its designation as a professional chapter of the AMA in April.
