Yahoo Sports' Andy Behrens offers three early pickups for this upcoming week, including a wide receiver in Washington, a wide receiver in Baltimore and a running back in San Francisco.
ANDY BEHRENS: If you're anything like me, then you're just ready to move on from opening week and get ready for a week two. Let's talk about some early pickup options, and I think we have to start with Curtis Samuel. He looked like the vintage version of Curtis Samuel. Saw 11 targets in Washington's win over Jacksonville, caught 8 of them, had a touchdown in that one, also 4 carries in that game.
Just looked like a multipurpose threat. He looked fantastic. It's a big day as well for Jahan Dotson, a couple of touchdowns for the rookie. But we got to focus on Samuel, because 11 targets for a player who's only 4% rostered in Yahoo Leagues, he needs to get scooped up all over the place.
Another guy who had a big opening week, Devin Duvernay, the Baltimore Ravens. We knew that Baltimore would be kind of in the market, kind of looking for that third receiving option. It appears to be Duvernay. A couple of touchdowns, four targets on the day, caught them all. Great start for him.
A couple of big injuries at the running back position as well, none bigger than Eli Mitchell going down in the first half of what was going to be a big day against Chicago. His direct replacement, of course, Jeff Wilson. We've sort of had this fire drill before. Jeff Wilson with 11 touches on the day, a quiet afternoon against Chicago.
But, he will get Seattle in week two. It's a good spot for him. And again, workload should not be an issue if Mitchell can't go.
