Commanders LT Charles Leno on tie: ‘It’s like you kissed your sister’

It was an up-and-down day for the Washington Commanders in their 20-20 tie with the New York Giants.

The Commanders jumped out to a 10-0 lead over the Giants in the first half, but New York came storming back. Finally, the Giants took a 20-13 lead in the third quarter, and New York was trending in the right direction.

However, the Commanders came back late in the fourth quarter on wide receiver Jahan Dotson’s brilliant touchdown.

Both the Commanders and Giants had their chances again late in the fourth quarter and in overtime but failed to produce a scoring drive, leading the second tie in the NFL this season.

Washington is now 7-5-1 on the season after the tie, while the Giants [7-4-1] remain a half-game ahead of the Commanders.

After the game, Washington players were in no mood to celebrate and left tackle Charles Leno Jr. offered a hilarious take on the tie.

“I heard this from one of my coaches,” Leno said, according to Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post. “It’s like you kissed your sister. And it makes sense. Think about it. If you were a kid back in the day, ‘Oh, did you kiss a girl? No. But I kissed my sister.’ It’s not technically a win. But it’s not a loss.”

That’s an interesting take.
