Commanding 5-Year-Old Orders Soldiers to Do Press-Ups on Oklahoma Base

A five-year-old took command of soldiers at Oklahoma’s Fort Sill on March 28 and ordered them to perform press-ups.

This footage, shot by Drill Sergeant Noah Southwick, shows his son, Syris, clad in military fatigues supervising the soldiers as he shouts “up” and “down”. Syris orders the soldiers to start over after his father points out that one of them is wearing a hat.

“Why do you have a hat on?” the five-year-old asks. “We’re starting over because he had a hat on.”

Southwick told Storyful it was Syris’s “first time doing this.” Credit: Noah Southwick via Storyful
