Committee To Protect Medicare Holds Zoom Call On COVID-19 Vaccine Hesitancy

At this point, all Americans 16 and older are eligible to receive a COVID vaccine.

- The Committee to Protect Medicare, an advocacy group supporting Medicare for all, held a Zoom call today on vaccine hesitancy. The group is urging conservative Republicans to get vaccinated, saying polls show many in Pennsylvania are hesitant.

MAX COOPER: Vaccines are safe. Vaccines are effective at preventing hospitalizations and deaths. And vaccines are broadly available right now. Together with wearing a mask and social distancing, widespread vaccinations give us the best path towards returning to normal.

- At this point, all Americans 16 and older are eligible to receive a COVID vaccine. Now, here are the latest vaccination numbers in our region. Pennsylvania has administered more than 7 and 1/2 million vaccines. That includes first and second doses. In New Jersey, more than six million doses have been given out. And Delaware has put more than 661,000 shots into arms.
