Common grounds: Adelle's in Dover sold to Caffe Kilim owners

This week we witnessed the friendly merger of two great groups of local business owners. When one group decided to sell their much-loved Dover coffeehouse, they went straight to a family that owns a much-loved Portsmouth coffeehouse and the result is the preservation of a business that has become a special part of the Dover community.

When Nova Mullineaux and the Adelle's Coffeehouse team decided to sell the business, she approached the Yazgan family, owners of Caffe Kilim in Portsmouth, to see if they would be interested in buying Adelle's. And they said yes.

Oyster Week returns to the Seacoast this Sunday, Sept. 18 with a week of events highlighting the state’s fastest-growing seafood industry. Half of the state’s 14 oyster farms will take part in events at local breweries and restaurants from Newmarket to Newington showcasing the state’s oyster harvest which has grown by nearly 800 percent in value since 2013. The celebration starts with Oysterfest at the Stone Church in Newmarket and spreads to Stoneface Brewing, Throwback Brewery and Bernie's Beach Bar throughout the week.

Wiggly Bridge expanding its horizons

The owners of Wiggly Bridge Distillery are adding an expansion that will double the production of their award-winning whiskey. Dave Woods and his son, David Woods II, have been running their York distillery since 2012 and say their current facility cannot keep up with their ever-growing demand.

Otto Pizza opens in Exeter

Otto Pizza has opened at the former Green Bean location at 33 Water St. in Exeter and says it offers "an elevated pizza experience." Franchisee owner Alex Budd said Otto is known for its unique combination pizzas like mashed potato, bacon and scallion, and buffalo cauliflower, scallion and blue cheese.
