Artists sought for Artalicious’ silent auction ‘In the Garden’

ADRIAN — The Artalicious silent auction committee is looking for artists, designers and creative people to create one-of-a-kind pieces of art for this year’s fundraiser that will take place Sept. 16-17 during the art fair in downtown Adrian. Funds raised from the auction will support youth art programs in Lenawee County.

This year’s auction theme is “In the Garden,” with a focus on the Earth’s viability, a news release from the Artalicious Fine Arts Fair said.

Artists are encouraged to think about the types of gardens (butterfly, moonlight, rock, sensory, wildlife, fairy, Japanese Zen, water, “The Secret Garden,” etc.) and the types of things found in gardens (watering can, fountains, insects, animals, flowers, vegetables, trees, bird baths, bird houses, bird feeders, stepping stones, etc.).

Artists may use any materials they would like.

This year’s auction will be hosted by the Adrian District Library, 143 E. Maumee St. Completed project entries are due Sept. 5. Bidding on items will begin at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 6 and close during Artalicious at 4 p.m. Sept. 17. Winning bidders will be able to pick up their items starting at 5 p.m. Sept. 17.
