'Sue's Backpacks'

The local chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution last month dropped off 50 backpacks and supplies for homeless veterans at the Goodwill Manasota Veterans Services Program office. From left, Veterans Services manager Todd Hughes, DAR members Rebecca Morgan and Jeanne McMillan, Veterans Services team member Randy Wright, and volunteer Richard Burger. The effort is called "Sue's Backpacks" to honor the late mother of DAR member Rebecca Morgan. "Veterans put their lives on the line for our country; I feel like this is the least we could do,” Morgan said. For info, visit fssdar.com/SaraDeSoto.
