Nov. 2—Salvation Army Adopt-a-Child Christmas Program Registration. Registration for the Salvation Army's annual Adopt-a-Child Christmas Program runs through Nov. 22 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 316 Carlton Ave., Cloquet.

Forest Finns in America, noon-1 p.m., virtual. The Cloquet Public Library hosts the virtual presentation via Zoom.

First Friday Films at the Library, 2-4 p.m., Cloquet Public Library. The library hosts its a free family-friendly movie screening on the first Friday of each month. No registration is required. Light refreshments will be served. The November screening will feature "Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile."

Community Chess Club, 3:30-5 p.m., Cloquet Public Library.

Hunter's Supper, 4-7 p.m., Cromwell Pavilion. The Cromwell Area Community Club hosts its annual Hunter's Supper, featuring turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, vegetables, gravy, a roll and pumpkin pie. The cost is $15 for adults, $7 for children ages 6-10 and children 5 and under are free.

Red Bird Bazaar, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Cromwell-Wright High School, 5624 Minnesota Highway 210, Cromwell. Admission is $1.

Cloquet Moms Group 11th Annual Craft and Vendor Fair, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Journey Christian Church, 1400 Washington Ave., Cloquet. More than 40 crafters and vendors will be on hand. There will also be a silent auction and refreshments available for sale from Holy Smokes catering and Bearaboo Coffee Escape.

Cat Shelter Community Build, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Cloquet High School cafeteria. Carlton County Animal Rescue partners with Cloquet Community Education to offer a free class where community members can build shelters for stray cats. While the event runs most of the day, there will be presentations offered at 9:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Attendees can stay for as short or as long a time as they are able. Timber Management and Taxation School, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Golf Clubhouse Restaurant at Black Bear Casino Resort, 1791 Minnesota Highway 210, Carlton. The University of Minnesota Extension will host the event designed to provide up-to-date information on federal taxes for income and expenses related to timber sales. Tax professionals, foresters, logging contractors, landowners, agricultural lenders and farm management instructors are encouraged to attend.
