Community Christian School celebrates Cinco de Mayo in downtown Willmar

May 6—WILLMAR — Cinco de Mayo brought delicious food, fun and learning Wednesday to Spanish language students from Community Christian School.

A group of about 10 students participated in a scavenger hunt which brought them to various Latino-owned businesses in downtown Willmar during the holiday that celebrates the date of the Mexican army's May 5, 1862, victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla.

They spent time at Panaderia Estrella bakery, Rosita's Grill, La Fiesta grocery store and more.
