Community Christian School takes first place in volleyball, second in soccer at tournament

Nov. 3—WILLMAR — The Community Christian School had a strong showing as host of the Christian Athletic League's fall tournaments in volleyball and soccer.

The CCS volleyball team won first place in matches played at Community Christian School. The co-ed soccer team finished in second.

Soccer matches were played at Willmar High School because CCS' field has been recently renovated and was not quite ready to play on, said CCS activities director Gabe Klaassen.

Teams participating in both tournaments included: Immanuel Lutheran of Mankato; Valley Christian of Osceola, Wisconsin; Rochester Area Home Schools; Faith Christian of Foreston; St. Cloud Christian and Cambridge Christian.

"The thousands in attendance appreciated the venues for both soccer and volleyball and enjoyed what Willmar, Spicer and the surrounding communities had to offer," Klaassen said.
