Community farmers markets sprouting up in June across Worcester County
The seasonal farmers market program of the Regional Environmental Council returns this week. The Worcester-based nonprofit focuses on food issues, with one of its highlights the annual offering of fruits and vegetables.
The REC has been running farmers markets since 2008. This year's program, beginning this week and running through October, has 18 locations in Worcester, Southbridge and Webster:
