The Community Foundation of Monroe County honored recipients of its 180 Community Foundation scholarships during a recent breakfast at Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Motherhouse.

Scholarship recipients and their families attended.

The 180 awards were valued at a total of $137,000. Recipients included high school and adult learners from all parts of Monroe County.

The breakfast event marked a return to in-person celebrations for the scholarship program. Since the pandemic began, the awards breakfast has been held virtually. This year's scholarship awards will include a separate event to celebrate elementary school students who will receive their scholarships later this month.

"We are thrilled to be able to honor these deserving students and their families in person," Kathleen Russeau, Community Foundation executive director, said. "The scholarship program is a key part of our mission to support education and improve the quality of life for residents of Monroe County. We are proud to invest in the future of our community through these scholarships."
